Teaching Assistant Wanted at Backens School

Backens School is a F–6 school where Umeå music classes are part of grades 4–6.

About 250 students attend the school, and around 30 teachers work here. The school has a strong commitment and a family-like and inclusive atmosphere. We have a creative school environment and see it as a sign of a safe school environment.

Your Responsibilities

You will work as a teaching assistant. The role also includes functioning as a pedagogical resource and being present during lessons and breaks. The work is carried out in close collaboration with support teachers, special education teachers, and subject teachers.

About You

We prefer that you have a pedagogical education and experience working with students with NPF. Previous experience as a teaching assistant is an advantage.

You are a secure and stable adult who serves as a good role model, with the ability to create good relationships with students. You see each individual and contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment, while collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals. We are looking for an engaged person who shares our values, wants to contribute to continuous improvements, and achieve set goals. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Due to the law on suitability checks, a criminal record extract must be presented upon employment.

Other

The position is a special fixed-term employment, part-time 60%, starting as soon as possible by agreement until 2026-06-10.
